GREEK STYLE FRIES

When I saw these bigger and thicker fries for the first time I was impressed and curious about them.Later I found out these tasty treats were called Greek style fries. They are very different in taste than the regular French fries.

Greek style fries are made from russet potatoes which have a soft, grainy texture when cooked. I have used the regular yellow or golden potatoes which are readily available. The results were equally good. Choose bigger potatoes for this recipe.

There are two ways to prepare these fries. One is to bake them with olive oil and seasonings and the other method is to first bake them then deep fry for a crispy texture and later toss them in Greek seasonings. I am using the later method.

Greeks love to have their fries with Tzatziki sauce. Check my previous posts for the recipe of Tzatziki sauce.
